Former President Donald Trump unleashed a frenetic run of posts across social media, aiming at his two favored targets and archrivals, labeling Barack Obama and Joe Biden as “TRAITORS” and “COWARDS.”
In the middle of the afternoon on Monday, May 4, Trump posted a peculiar attack on his two predecessors, sharing a three-panel AI-generated cartoon that depicted Obama bowing before Iran’s late Ayatollah Khamenei, with the caption in bold, uppercase white letters reading “TRAITORS BOW.” This appeared beneath another cartoon meme of Biden kneeling on a sidewalk in a COVID-19 mask, bearing a similar large uppercase headline, “COWARDS KNEEL.”

Both memes were created from genuine photographs of the two former presidents and were presented completely out of context.
Opposite the two images, there’s a large photo of Trump with his right arm raised, a clenched fist, wearing his usual blue suit and red tie, with the caption, “LEADERS LEAD.”

The president either appeared unaware of where the pictures of his fierce political adversaries originated or chose not to care, but social media quickly corrected him by surfacing the authentic photographs Trump had tried to obscure.
With a single post on Threads, Jeniene Cenoz sharply underscored Trump’s portrayal of Obama and Biden.
The Obama meme came from a real photo Cenoz displays in her post, showing him in the Oval Office leaning toward a child who was touching his head. The Biden cartoon likewise drew from a genuine image of him kneeling on a sidewalk beside a child wearing a mask as the president spoke with the child.
The online backlash arrived swiftly and with force.
“It is indescribably filthy to me that they chose a photo of Obama looking AWESOME and defiled it,” a Threads user proclaimed in disgust.
Another user agreed.
“He’s too stupid to understand that the image of Obama was doctored! Obama allowed a kid to touch his hair and some maga minion photoshopped it to make it look like he was bowing down to Iranian leader!”
This poster attempted to make sense of Trump’s post.
“It’s because he’s an infantile, incompetent nincompoop. The USA urgently needs a serious, grown up to lead the country.”
Threads user Liu Pete expressed it this way, “I don’t understand how a president of a country can post such fake information. We aren’t talking about North Korea, right? How have our moral standards sunk so low? How is this MAGA?”
Trump has been aiming at Obama and Biden for years. He continues to blame them and Democrats in general for the affordability crisis, even though he has been in office for over 15 months, overseeing a deteriorating economy and an energy crisis that has intensified amid his ongoing and unapproved aggression toward Iran.
Meanwhile, as part of his Monday afternoon posting spree, Trump resposted screenshots of MAGA loyalists who voiced support for his expansive $400 million ballroom project after the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting at the Washington Hilton just over a week earlier.
He also posted a cartoon meme of his sworn enemy, outgoing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, tumbling into a trash dumpster, captioned, “’Too Late’ is a DISASTER for America! Interest Rates too high!”
Trump has been targeting Powell since retaking the presidency, pressing the Fed chief to cut interest rates on demand, but Powell has stood firm, leaving Trump fuming without achieving his aim.
Concluding his afternoon tirade, Trump asserted in a final post that he’s “made the U.S.A. 45 Billion Dollars in 8 months!” a claim that remains unverified and offers no evidence of where such funds would be coming from.
