President Donald Trump was nearly run out of Dalton, Georgia, as demonstrators commandeered his rally far longer than typical.
Trump is sprinting across the country, staging rallies and events in a bid to shore up dwindling support for GOP candidates tied to an unpopular president and his controversial policy agenda.
With the midterms bearing down, Republicans face headwinds as polls show many trailing in states they dominated in the 2024 election.

On Friday, Oct. 16, the president travelled to Dalton in northwest Georgia, a region that used to be a lock for Republicans but is now a contest for both the governorship and the Senate. In fact, polls widely predicted Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff would defeat GOP challenger Rep. Mike Collins.
Trump was on stage backing Collins when hecklers punctured the moment.
It began when two protesters displayed “ICE Out” signs, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the crowd began to boo.

Then it was unclear who they were booing at. As the loud boos persisted for several minutes, the president looked stunned, standing alone at the podium in a red “USA” ball cap, looking around in disbelief
Then the MAGA crowd tried to cover by shouting “USA, USA,” a chant that often erupts at Trump rallies.
“Well, you know they’re paid protesters. So, there’s two or three of them,” he insisted before pointing at the press covering the event.
“Look at all the fake news. As the crowd continued booing in the background, he groused, “That’s a lot of fake news.”
While the AJC’s video shows the two or three ICE protesters, another video shows security escorting a large group of protesters out of the airport hangar where the rally took place.
Social media erupted in a frenzy of jeers and jokes.
“Even his handpicked audience wants a refund,” an X user hilariously posted.
This commenter pointed out, “He’s getting heckled everywhere; this is awesome.”
So much so that this X poster noted, “Look at how bewildered he looks, and it isn’t one person, so pretty hard to throw them out, isn’t it.”
Another commenter summed it all up with one word, “Rattled.”
Protesters and hecklers have interrupted Trump at his rallies across the country in recent weeks as online supporters amp up the incidents.
Back in September, a protester interrupted Trump’s rally in Gastonia, North Carolina. Trump appeared to mistake the protester for a man, but when he realized she was a woman, he seemed stumped.
Trying to make light of the situation, Trump veered into his familiar anecdote about the woman’s mother and the punishment she would supposedly face at home for throwing shade at his speech.
Then, in early October in San Antonio, as Trump tried to drum up support for Republican Ken Paxton’s lagging Senate campaign, protesters interrupted Trump’s speech at least seven times.
At the same rally, a supporter assaulted a protester as others in the crowd shouted and pointed toward the exits. The repeated disruptions came during Trump’s third trip to Texas in less than a month, as Republicans work to protect what has long been one of the party’s safest political strongholds.
A few days later, another lone heckler made headlines after disrupting Trump’s rally.
As security dragged her out, the defiant woman, dressed in a “Primus” shirt, raised both hands and flipped Trump off with her middle fingers.
One of the worst disruptions at a Trump rally so far happened in Ohio when a group of MAGA supporters brutally attacked a protester as the president stoked their fury.
The woman wore a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt and heckled Trump when one of the MAGA men struck her in the face as a group of men viciously surrounded her.
Instead of tossing out the attackers, police roughly dragged the injured woman from the rally.
