Jaylen Brown’s Latest Splurge Reveals Who He Is Beyond His $304 Million Contract

November 4, 2026

Philadelphia 76ers standout Jaylen Brown has shown that wealth can purchase more than just material goods — it can also offer peace of mind.

While many top-tier athletes and rappers spend their fortunes on jewelry, luxury cars, or mansions, he directed his five-year, $304 million contract toward a different kind of investment.

Brown ranks among the highest earners in the league and previously held the record for the largest NBA contract after signing it in 2023.

With that level of wealth, Brown could acquire anything he desires, yet he surprised fans by sharing a single cherished item in his Boston home.

In a November 2 episode of Architectural Digest, Brown disclosed one of his favorite acquisitions inside his Boston residence.

“One of my favorite features of my home here is my harp. This is an 18th-century harp that was reimagined. The gilding is 24-karat gold,” Brown explained.

The 30-year-old continued, “I think this is probably one of my most expensive pieces here. A lot of times, I was looking for stuff I just wasn’t looking at the price. I was looking for stuff that kind of fit me.”

As Brown spoke about the harp, Singaporean harpist Li Shan, whom he described as an “amazing therapist, sat quietly by the instrument.

He said, “From time to time, when she is not around, I go, and I try to recreate some sounds. I’ve just been enjoying the bliss.”

His latest comments offer another glimpse into his spending habits, which he discussed last month during an interview with Lil Baby on “The Last Ten.”

“In 2022, I bought a Porsche. A Taycan Turbo Porsche,” he said. “I like the movie James Bond, so I always like Porsches. But I don’t even drive that.”

The NBA star explained that he has a driver, hence why he doesn’t drive the high-powered luxury car.

After revealing the harp as his favorite purchase to the Atlanta rapper, Brown shed light a bit on Li Shan’s schedule.

He said, “I got a harpist that comes to play like twice a week. While the sun is going down, the chef is in the kitchen. You know what I mean?”

Despite talking about the harp more than once, Brown did not share how much it cost. But fans assumed the price tag was far from cheap.

One fan who saw both interviews of his home and the one with Lil Baby said, “He was not lying to lil baby about having that harp.”

One initial skeptic, impressed by the instrument, said, “Who has a 24k gold harp JB is next level?”

Another fan commented, “The legendary harp he was talking about. We finally see it.”

Brown’s listed the 4,000-square-foot penthouse for sale in 2024, but eventually took it off the market.

The property, which he purchased for about $5.5 million, overlooks the Boston Financial District and has three bedrooms.

For Brown, there is a lot of history with it.

“I grew up here, age 19 to 29. I developed here in Boston as a young man,” he said. “There’s been other places, but this one–I created it, it was crafted by my vision. This one felt the most like home.”

But according to The Economic Times, Brown listed it again – along with an adjacent studio apartment – for $1 million less than what he paid for.
