Carmelo Anthony Flaunts His Daughter Amid Divorce Buzz, Her Priceless Reaction Steals the Show

March 2, 2026

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Carmelo Anthony was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on September 6, and attendees were surprised to see the daughter he shares with Mia Burks during his marriage to La La Anthony present at the ceremony. La La and Carmelo parted ways because of his infidelity in 2017, though they briefly reconciled in 2018 before she filed for divorce in 2021, according to People.

Anthony is a father to two children — a son, Kiyan Anthony, with his ex-wife La La, and a daughter, Genesis Harlo Anthony, with Burks. He proudly introduced both of his kids at the Hall of Fame induction and referenced them during his acceptance speech.

“Raising children in this world is revolutionary,” he remarked. “I didn’t simply aspire to be a basketball player. I aimed to embody redemption, accountability, and love. My kids saved me,” he added, gesturing to his children seated beside each other in the audience.

The eight-year-old daughter waved at the camera with a sweet, coy smile as the crowd applauded and laughed. Her brother joined in the applause as well.

“They gave me a reason to move past ego, past noise, past criticism,” he continued. “They reminded me that legacy isn’t what you leave behind, it’s what you lift up.”
