Earl Thomas’s Ex-Wife Allegedly Stole Millions to Fund Implants and Lavish Gifts After Holding Him at Gunpoint for Cheating With Two Women

Nina Thomas, the estranged wife of former Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, has been formally charged with siphoning roughly $2.7 million from him through a sequence of fraudulent schemes.

Court documents obtained by TMZ Sports indicate that Nina filed for divorce in November 2020 and later began taking money from her husband as early as September 2021.

Authorities accuse Nina of conspiring to commit wire fraud, wire fraud itself, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft.

According to the outlet, the documents describe Nina and an unnamed accomplice diverting funds from the seven-time Pro Bowl safety into separate accounts registered in their names. Prosecutors say Nina used the stolen money to pay for breast implants, a Hermes Birkin handbag, and other purchases.

The warrant for the mother of three was issued on December 13, and she was taken into custody on Monday, December 16. TMZ reports she has since posted bail and been released.

Nina’s arrest marks another twist in the saga of the former high school sweethearts, a relationship punctuated by drama and legal entanglements over the past four years.

Their fallout began in April 2020 after she and her husband reportedly had a heated argument related to his drinking, and he left the home with his brother, Seth.

According to TMZ, Nina traced her husband to a local Airbnb in Austin, Texas, where she allegedly found Thomas and his brother “naked in bed with other women.”

Documents indicate that in an attempt to “scare” her husband, Nina pressed Thomas’s own 9mm Beretta to his head, with a live round in the chamber. She claimed she did not know the gun was loaded, and Thomas confirmed “she got the gun from my house” during the incident.

Nina reportedly claimed the weapon was not loaded and that she used it only as a “scare tactic.”

When police arrived at the scene, she was seen with a knife, telling officers, “I caught my husband cheating,” according to footage obtained by TMZ. She explained that she had found Edward with “two women upstairs.”

Nina was arrested and an emergency protective restraining order was issued by Thomas, requiring her to stay away from him and any other woman he chose to date.

This incident led to Nina filing for divorce, ending their four-year marriage.

Although their marriage was ending, their toxicity did not.

In December 2021, Thomas faced accusations of menacing Nina during a drunken rage during the Christmas period. Nina claimed that he chose to stay out all night and even sent a video of himself being intimate with another woman to her phone before returning to his parents’ home, where the family had gathered for Christmas, and acting irate in front of their children. Nina was awarded a protective order.

In May 2022, Thomas was arrested for violating the 2021 protective order after allegedly threatening Nina and their children via text message.

Thomas was directed to communicate with Nina about their children solely through a co-parenting app. However, local outlets reported his wife claimed he refused to download the app, continuing to contact her by phone and showing up at places she frequented.

The outlet added that the former “Legion of Boom” member sent texts allegedly telling his former wife he had two guns and then threatened her, stating, “Waiting on hand in foot is why I’ll kick your ass.”

The following day, she reported a text in which he allegedly wrote, “I hope you’re in the car with him and the kids and y’all drive off the road,” and then threatened to “poison” their children.

Months after his May 2022 arrest for allegedly threatening her, Thomas’s Orange County, Texas mansion was destroyed by a fire that followed a lightning strike.

In 2023, tensions over money resurfaced when Nina’s boyfriend was arrested for allegedly stealing the NFL star’s identity in a purported $1.9 million scam.

New Orleans police alleged that for more than a year, Kevin J. Thompson, 34, used a fake ID bearing Thomas’s name to move large sums of Thomas’s money into multiple accounts, make sizable cash withdrawals, and cash NFL checks. Thompson also transferred title ownership of several vehicles from Thomas’s name to his own.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Thomas’s case against Nina is connected to the case against her former boyfriend.
