Donald Trump’s house of cards is collapsing, and he does not want the world to witness his meltdown.
The Trump administration and the GOP endured crushing losses in the 2026 midterm elections. Democrats will reclaim control of Congress once more, granting them the ability to block his MAGA agenda.
The president had promised Republicans Election Day victory. The opposite happened on November 3. He asserted that his party would have won in a landslide if he had appeared on the ballot.

Regrettably for his MAGA base, the octogenarian’s influence, much like his long list of presidential promises, did not translate into a reality worthy of Republican voter support.
As results favored Democratic contenders in swing states such as Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, formerly red Texas, and others, Trump retreated from the crowds gathered at the White House.

Trump had hoped his influence at October midterm rallies would preserve his political program and cement allies in top posts across the nation.
Instead, he was humbled and left seething inside his private residence, according to the Daily Mail. Trump accused the same outlet of twisting his words during his Reflecting Pool speech, and is now pushing to have the pool named in his honor.
Two women stood by him throughout the evening, chief of staff Susie Wiles and executive aide Natalie Harp, as the vote tallies poured in.
First Lady Melania Trump was reportedly nowhere near her husband as Republicans were humiliated.
The East Room watch party welcomed Cabinet members with catering from The Cheesecake Factory — another one of the administration’s attempts to get the last laugh at former President Barack Obama’s quip comparing the White House to the restaurant known for its opulent decor.
By 10 p.m., the blue wave apparently proved too heavy for many, and staffers began flocking out.
“It’s very, very dark in the residence. It’s a dark scene,” a senior official allegedly told the publication.
Trump seethed after clinging to the delusional belief that Republicans would win. The next day, his public schedule showed no plans for a public appearance.
“Good! I hope he’s stewing in it,” one X user posted. “He’s a coward and a bad loser. Very weak man,” another wrote.
A third critic commented, “That isn’t a man. That’s a baby lmao.”
Meanwhile, a fourth reaction read, “I have said, Trump won’t be happy. You guys did the right thing by stripping him of total power. There will be consequences though. It’s going to get reeeeeal messy.”
By noon on November 4, Trump had moved on to the ballroom construction site for an impromptu update on the project.
During his remarks, he pledged it would be “the most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world.”
He steered clear of addressing the midterm upset. Meanwhile, his Truth Social posts from the night before and the morning after expressed his disappointment and fury with Fox News, as well as Republican and Democratic candidates.
Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential race to Trump. She foresaw him “lashing out,” warning he’d “feel cornered” if Republicans were defeated on “The View.”
Trump continued raging at reporters on post-Election Day calls, just as the White House did, issuing a stern reminder about who was still in charge.
“PSA: TRUMP IS STILL YOUR PRESIDENT,” the caption read.
The caption on X, along with a photo of him scowling behind the Resolute Desk with his fists clenched, underscored the moment.
Critics say it is only a matter of time before he faces a third impeachment and his own administration members turn on him.
