Diarra and her crew have three minutes to crack a mysterious quilt clue.
Diarra Kilpatrick and her team, originally charged with recovering a piece of furniture, find their mission spiraling into a grisly triple-homicide inquiry and a citywide treasure hunt. As the mystery deepens, Diarra finds herself navigating deeper into Detroit’s underworld in pursuit of what may be her most consequential case yet.
In Episode 7, Dunk has handed them a patchwork quilt containing hidden clues, and the clock is ticking. Their mission? Figure out what the quilt is trying to tell them before Booker pays the price.
Diarra quickly connects the quilt to an important piece of history.
“So, during slavery, quilts like these had hidden messages to direct runaways,” she notes as the crew tries to figure out the hidden messages tucked away within the quilt. “So one of these patches has to mean Union. Go to Union.”

That seemingly simple clue immediately leaves Raqueeba (Shoniqua Shandai) confused.
“What the f–k is a union?” shouts Raqueeba, before pointing to Harriet Tubman on the quilt, mistaking the iconic abolitionist for actress, Gabrielle Union.
The mix-up prompts one of the sneak peek’s funniest moments.
“Yes, Gabrielle Union, the runaway with perfectly laid edges. Girl, this is Harriet Tubman!” shouts Diarra.
But there’s no time to dwell on the history lesson. Aja suddenly believes she has cracked another part of the puzzle.
“Oh my God, y’all! I think I’m solving a clue. This how the flag used to be on the um…” she says, before Diarra quickly interrupts her.
“During the Civil War. It’s the Union flag, scissors. There’s something in here.”
“I was gonna say that. You knew I was gonna say that!” Aja hilariously shouts back.
With the clock ticking and Booker’s digits on the line, the crew better hope their chaotic brainstorming session leads them to the right answer.
