Jalen Hurts Claps Back at Reporter Asking How to Look as Handsome as the Eagles QB

March 29, 2026

Jalen Hurts is firing on all cylinders as he leads the Philadelphia Eagles into the Super Bowl LXI clash with the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams have touched down in New Orleans for the February 9 showdown at the Caesars Superdome, where the two squads have been mounting a full media blitz in the run-up to the championship face-off.

On Monday, Feb. 3, the star quarterback faced a gauntlet of questions at a press conference, and the discussion unexpectedly veered from football strategy to his appearance. Hurts has drawn eyes and headlines for his on-field prowess since being drafted into the NFL in 2020, with his looks often becoming part of the conversation surrounding him.

However, just as many fans regard him as a striking figure, labeling him one of the league’s premier eye candy. That much was evident when a reporter asked him to share tips on boosting his aesthetics to please his girlfriend.

“How can I get more handsome?” asked the journalist. “My girlfriend says you’re the most handsome quarterback in this league. Any advice? Like, something to do with my hair? I’m desperate. Anything.”

The room started to chuckle.

Hurts, clearly amused by the moment, replied, “I don’t know if I can help you on that one. That sounds like a DNA thing.”

While his answer was brief, social media users could not resist turning the clip into another one of the internet’s viral moments. Among the cascade of reactions, one post quipped, “Callin his parents ugly is crazy.”

Another commenter wrote, “Bro just called him ugly af to his face.” An X user suggested that breaking up with his girlfriend might be the most sensible course of action. A different observer managed to offer a more measured take, joking, “I mean he could have said you are fine the way you are, build up confidence, establish a routine, etc.—but damn.”

The 25-year-old has been drawing the gaze of many women for the past couple of years, particularly after agreeing to a $255 million, five-year extension with the Eagles and landing the cover of Essence magazine.

Yet the beaming, admiring aura surrounding him briefly flickered when the quarterback—who has earned two Pro Bowl honors—shaved his iconic goatee in September, much to the disappointment of many fans. One admirer lamented that he seemed to be undergoing an identity crisis, while several others urged him to bring the facial hair back.

He did indeed return the goatee, only to heighten the public’s fascination again by proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Bryonna “Bry” Burrows. The couple, who met during their time at the University of Alabama, managed to keep their on-and-off relationship largely private until last autumn.
