Women Crush Wednesday, Vol. 19: A Tribute to 50 Queer Queens Championing Lesbian Visibility Week

April 30, 2026

This edition of Women Crush Wednesday lands with a somewhat different feel.

Whether you identify as a lesbian who leans femme, as non-binary, or as someone who calls themselves a staddy, our celebration is ongoing every day of the year, though we’re giving this Lesbian Visibility Week a touch more emphasis this year (April 20-26, 2026).

The movement began in July 1990, when this week was launched to honor lesbians, queer women, and nonbinary people who frequently face erasure in media and culture along with stereotype and misrepresentation.

From Doechii to Kehlani, Janelle Monae, Niecy Nash-Betts, and every stunning queer queen in between, this week is devoted to you, and serves as another reminder that your presence is cherished, supported, and celebrated here at MadameNoire. This weekly Women Crush Wednesday feature is about far more than eye candy or the hotties who continually grab our attention and keep us on our toes; it’s designed to empower all of our queer queens, regardless of which letter you use within the LGBTQIA umbrella!

Take a look at this week’s queer queens below!
